Shelf life:
Our cakes and pastries are baked entirely from scratch with out any preservatives or chemicals. Baked goods are best eaten fresh and should be kept airtight, refrigerated and consumed with in 2-3 days. Do not leave your items out on the counter unless you are consuming it the same day. If you need to store an item for a longer time period, you will need to freeze the item in an airtight container. Please understand this may alter the texture and flavor of our products. For best results, schedule your delivery or pick up date the day before or day of the event. Cakes with wafer paper or fondant details should be delivered/picked up on the day of your event to prevent damage and wilting.
Serving Cakes:
Before serving, allow the buttercream to soften at room temperature for several hours. Not doing so will result in dense, cold buttercream and cake. Our cakes are made with REAL butter solids and they need time to relax and soften just like a stick of butter needs heat to soften. Most cakes from the grocery store are made with artificial whipped topping, or whipped shortening so they are temperature stable, and mass produced to be left out in the store for weeks/months at a time. You cannot leave our cakes on the counter for weeks. Please refrigerate any leftovers, store in an airtight container and consume with in 3 days.
Pick Up Transportation/Set Up:
Your pick up order will be fully boxed and covered. Please prepare a level surface on the floor board away from any direct sunlight. Do NOT carry the cake on your lap or set it on a seat;
1. Your seats are not perfectly level and will cause a cake landslide. 2. They are higher up near the windows where direct sunlight will heat up the box. 3. The heat from your body and lap will also warm up the box.
Keep your cake display away from windows with direct sun and if you are setting up outdoors, they will need to be under complete shade. The melting point of buttercream is 82 degrees and vegan butter melting point is closer to 77 degrees. If the outdoor temperature is over this, you will not be able to set the cake out for more than an hour prior to serving and it must be in full shade. Once you set out your cake, it’s best to leave it in place. Moving a cake around after it’s set out at room temperature will cause it to slide or lean over.
Delivery Service
We chill our cakes before delivery to withstand heat and bumps in transportation and set up. Cakes taller than 2 tiers must be hand delivered by us in our Cake Safe containers and cannot be moved after set up. When planning the delivery timeline we take this into consideration and avoid setting the cake out more than 6 hours prior to your cake serving time. If you need an earlier delivery, please make sure there is plenty of refrigeration space that is not infiltrated by onions or vegetable odors.
For ceremony/reception room swaps: please arrange a delivery during the transition time or set up a cake table that will not be moved. Moving a cake after it softens may result in leaning layers and damage we cannot be held not responsible for. Our cakes are constructed with soft fillings and European inspired buttercream and are not cemented together with American buttercream paste.
Refunds:
If you are not happy with your order for any reason, we will refund you in credit towards a future purchase. Due to the cost and labor involved in custom baking, we do not offer cash back on any cancelled orders. If we have a 2 weeks cancellation notice we will credit your purchase for a later date. Orders canceled less than 2 weeks prior to your pick up or delivery will not be refunded for credit. Due to supply and design process we suggest booking as far as in advance as possible and no less than a 3 weeks notice. Flavors and sizes may be limited for last minute orders.
Last Minute Changes:
For last minute orders please call us about our ready-made party cakes. If you need a last minute, custom order; flavors will be limited to what we already have in stock for the day/week.
Major Design or Date changes may be subject to a 50$ design fee charge depending on the situation. When we hold your spot with a deposit we turn down other orders that conflict with your set delivery time. Thank you for understanding.
